System Design 101

What is system design? 

System design is WellCube’s tool to ensure you get the custom system that meets your needs, while simultaneously providing a smoother installation experience.

System design helps to remove friction from the installation process by prescribing the number of devices needed per site, floor, and room prior to installation, as well as the placement for those devices before anyone gets onsite; installers can show up and install and commission devices using predetermined layouts.

 

What do I need to know about system design? 

System design starts before you sign your contract. Your technical sales manager will generate a system design schematic and a custom quote for your space based on the information you provide, as well as the reporting needs you identify. You’ll have opportunities to revisit system design, but your initial device quantities and placements will be determined by these early conversations and the map that you approve. 

To make your system design conversations as successful as possible, we strongly recommend coming prepared with the following: 

  • Up to date versions of your floor plans, including dimensions (width, height, ceiling height) of rooms. 
  • Floor plans with furniture details included to better understand any obstacles for the site design and installation (FF+E).
  • Electrical and ethernet outlets highlighted. 

Your technical sales manager will use the floor plans to identify the best ways to configure your system, while keeping in mind any unique reporting requirements you may have (e.g., WELL, FitWel, RESET). They’ll review system design plans with you and need your sign off on device placement in order to complete this phase. The system design is considered complete once the device quantity, device placement, and quote for purchase is agreed upon. 

Once you’ve received your quote and committed to the PO, your technical sales manager will begin your organization setup.

 

Can I modify my system design? 

Yes, although we strongly recommend connecting with your technical sales manager before you make any changes. 

You can modify your system design with our move and delete tools in the Workspace. The Workspace will guide you through each step of the move and delete process. 

Making modifications to sites with commissioned devices requires a few additional steps, but is possible. If you have any questions about making modifications to your system design, we recommend reaching out to your technical sales manager.
